Lost Highway Area. The following routes are located at the far
right side of the wall. Hike the north branch of the West Trail to a
large boulder perched on bare granite. Continue down to the north about
40 feet, down a short groove, and locate a 2-bolt anchor on a small and
exposed ledge beneath a scrub juniper. Rappel 85 feet to a ledge atop
a pillar. To reach the bottom of Lost Highway, rappel another 100 feet
to a large, grassy shelf. This shelf may also be reached by rappelling
85 feet from a 2-bolt anchor at the far north end of Ledge Two.
Orgasmatron 11b *
FA: Richard Rossiter, Serena Benson, 1999.
Accept the challenge. Begin from the top of the pillar. Climb to a roof,
then undercling left and pull around to the left side of a sharp arete.
Climb straight up to where the angle eases and continue to the bolt anchor at
the top of the wall (11b, 9 bolts, 85 feet).
Lost Highway 10c *
FA: Richard Rossiter, Dianne Barrow, Vanessa Grittenda, 2000.
Begin this unusual route from the right side of the grassy shelf described
above.
- Climb a steep wall to a narrow ledge with a 2-bolt anchor (10a, 6 bolts, 70 feet).
- Work up and right, then climb an arete to a ledge atop a pillar (7, 5 bolts, 60 feet).
- Begin as for Orgasmatron, but continue up a big right-facing dihedral, then veer left (10c, 9 bolts, 85 feet)
